Elder Prayer Ministry
What is the elder prayer ministry? James 5:13-16 states one of the responsibilities of the church elders is to pray with those who are sick and come to the elders seeking prayer. GFC
Elders are available to pray with members of GFC, their family and friends, and persons attending GFC. Sickness in the context of this scripture is defined as physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual by the GFC
Elders.
How do you request elder prayer? Elder prayer can be requested by contacting a GFC elder, contacting the GFC Care Coordinator, or completing the Elder Prayer Request Form at the bottom of this page. Below is a list of the GFC Elders and contact information for the GFC Care Coordinator.
GFC Elders:
Frank Benton, Mike Hyder, Keith Bryant, Jud McGowan, Earle Chute, Tom Oyler, David Reagan, Mike Hubbs, Pat Rowan, Rob Hughes
GFC Care Coordinator:
Woody Johnson can be contacted at 928-5601 ext. 243 or by email.
Who can attend and how is an elder prayer session conducted?
Elders who will be involved and the GFC Lead or Staff Pastor (if available) will attend. The person requesting prayer can invite family members, GFC staff, and their community group leader/ members at their discretion. If possible, the session will be held at GFC between/after a service in a private office/room. If the person being prayed for can’t make it to the church, a comfortable location will be selected.
