GFC Leadership Pledge Over $4 Million for the Imagine Campaign "There are moments when we have to ask: Why has God put me where He has put me? Why has God given me what He has given me? This is a deeply personal matter of the heart," said Tom Oyler, GFC Lead Pastor, at the Imagine Leadership Dinner on February 21st at the Millennium Center in Johnson City. One hundred and forty GFC family units expressed their desire to make an early personal commitment to the Imagine campaign, and came together for a special evening of prayer, testimony and inspiration. Together, they pledged $4.06 million of their resources over the next three years for GFC's facility expansion. "This is such a time in the life of our church that we have never had before and likely will not have again," said Tom. "What we do will impact people whom we will not meet until heaven. "In the book of Esther, this young Jewish girl, who had become the queen of Persia, risked her life to beg the king to save her people from extermination. Her father told her, 'Who knows whether you have not attained royalty for such a time as this.' "For in such a time as this, resources can be released that will enable the message of grace, and the good works that are intended to follow, to reach people that we can't even imagine. At such a time as this, it is not about what we have. It is about what we do with what we have." |
